The Demopolis Police Department Special Response Team (SRT) will undergo training Feb. 20-24. Police Chief Tommie Reese said officers would be in full gear and carrying weapons running around the city on foot.

“They are just during a state certification training exercise,” Reese said. “There is no need to be alarmed.”

Also, the firing range in Linden will be closed Feb. 22 as part of the training.
