It is the time of year for ghouls and goblins and tricks and treats. At Westside Elementary School, that means it is Fall Festival time.
The starting gate for the Demopolis City School system will hold its annual autumn rite Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“We’re going to have food, fun and games,” Westside Elementary School principal Tony Pittman said.
“Kids get an opportunity to dress up in their costumes, come out and have a good time here.”
Admission to the event is $2 per person or $1 with a canned food item.
All monetary proceeds from the event go toward classroom improvement at Westside.
“It’s a nice little fundraiser for Westside that we do every year,” Pittman said.
“Teachers enjoy it as well as the students. Teachers will be in their costumes as well. It’s going to be a fun time here at Westside. It has been very successful. It is something that our kids look forward to every year. The money that is raised goes back into the classroom for our teachers to buy supplies.”
All but one of the events at the Fall Festival will take place indoors, making the occasion perfect for dry weather or a rainy evening.
“We have a hayride going on outside, but all the other games will be inside,” Pittman said. “We just need a large turnout, folks to come out and have fun.”
