Hager Young, of Demopolis, turned 115 years old Tuesday. Young, who serves as an honorary police officer for the city of Demopolis, was presented with a DPD t-shirt from police chief Tommie Reese.
Demopolis Mayor Mike Grayson presented Young with a proclamation that decreed Oct. 11, 2011 as Hager Young Day in the city.
The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes Mrs. Young as the twelfth oldest person in the United States and the oldest living citizen of the State of Alabama.
