LINDEN – The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page will now be sharing the Marengo County Informational Channel. The informational channel is the YouTube-based community events rotator that shares information about local activities throughout Marengo County.

Bruce Ward, who maintains and updates the channel, is hopeful the addition of the rotator to the Demopolis Facebook page will produce more views and an increase in events for the channel.

“(Demopolis Chamber of Commerce director Jenn Tate) has given me permission that when I update it, I can go in there and I can put it on their Facebook page,” Ward said. “The idea has been floating around. We just decided to really push it.”

The channel is currently available only online. However, Ward is currently working to get the Linden Community Channel and the Marengo County Informational Channel added to the lineup of Demopoils CATV programming.

Ward is hopeful the opening of the county channel to a Demopolis audience will help in the process of getting more information about Demopolis events out to the rest of Marengo County.

“It is just getting the information that trickles down from the Demopolis area,” Ward said. “The Linden community Channel is going to continue to be the Linden Community Channel. The Area Informational Channel may get a new name in the future.”

To access the channel on the YouTube website or on a TV or device with YouTube connectivity, use channel name Marengo36748. When the channel is updated it will be posted on the Demopolis Chamber Facebook page. The channel will also be available at www.lindenalabama.net. The channel will be updated every Monday and when needed.
