Hospital reaching out to storm victims

Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Dana Suttles Trucking and Southern Care Hospice have joined forces to collect items for victims of last week’s storms. A tractor trailer has been placed in the front parking lot at BWWMH at the corner of highways 80 and 43 as a collection drop site.
The trailer will be open to receive items Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The following new or gently used items are needed:
Ready to eat food and non-perishable food items, tarps, new socks, new underwear, new or gently worn tennis shoes, baby items including: baby food, diapers, formula, diaper cream, baby powder, baby wipes, clothes hangers, school supplies, sunscreen, wipes, soap, towels, washcloths, hand sanitizer, flashlights, batteries, deodorant, detergent, dog food and cat food.
Volunteers to help man the trucks are also needed. If you can work one or more shifts to receive donations, please call 334-507-3128 to sign up.
