In light of what is expected to be a significant severe weather event this afternoon and this evening, Alabama Power has issued the following with regards to possible power outages:

• This is shaping up to be a very serious and very dangerous storm. People should be prepared for the possibility of prolonged outages lasting several days.

• We have the full force of our company working to restore power from the storm that already passed through, and have called in additional assistance from as far away as Illinois to help with the coming storm, should we need it.

• Safety is our priority for our customers and our employees. Stay away from downed lines. Report to us hazardous conditions. Be careful if you are using generators, etc.

• Our restoration plan focuses on doing what we can to bring power back up to the most people as quickly as possible. But – we won’t stop working till everyone is back up.
