Ella P. Rhodes, 86, of Gallion passed away March 31. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Phillip and Nora Jones, husbands Thomas C. Waits (1981) and Samuel O. Rhodes (2006).
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Al Keahey of Jemison and Carrie Jo (Jimmy) Parker of Ramer, brothers Eddie (Earlene) Phillips of Demopolis and Thomas Phillips of Fairhope, sisters Beatrice Shaw of Minot, N.D., Cecil Joyner of Gallion and Louise Ford of Gallion, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Paul Whitcomb and Rev. Warren Huggins officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from noon to 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Justin Ford, Jerry Scott, Terry Hodo, Randy Ford, Dale Tanner, Tony Hodo and Zachary Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Sterling Lowe, Bill McCain, Buddy Lawrence, Sug Barnes, Ross Fitzhugh, Arthur Dixon, Tommy Vick, Henry Parker, Lynn Collins, Tim Parker, Huey Cassity, David Duke, Dalton Lowe, Ollie Daw and the Progressive Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be to Baptist Children’s Home.
