City studying Halloween day move

Technically Halloween is 29 days away, but currently under study in Demopolis and Linden is the idea of asking goblins and candy-hunting ghouls to hit the streets a day early.
This year Halloween falls on a Sunday.
The action, if taken by either city, would ask that trick-or-treaters observe Halloween Saturday, Oct. 30 to avoid any conflicts with local church services and observing traditions of the Sabbath.
Demopolis Mayor Mike Grayson said he expected the Demopolis City Council to discuss the issue at Thursday’s council meeting, noting that early support for the move has been favorable.
