State to deploy aid to displaced Greenetrack workers

The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations and the Alabama Career Center System will deploy the state’s mobile Career Center to Eutaw, Alabama to provide assistance to those who have lost their jobs due to the recent closure of Greenetrack.
Trained staff will be on hand to assist individuals in filing for unemployment compensation and other services that may be available to them, and to assist them in registering on Alabama’s online jobs database, www.joblink.alabama.gov.
Officials will be on-site Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from noon to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, July 16, 2010 from 8 a.m. – noon.
They will be located in the Old National Guard Armory, on Highway 14 (Mesopotamia Ave.) in Eutaw.

“I’d like to encourage anyone who feels they may need assistance to come out and get some help,” said Tom Surtees, Alabama Department of Industrial Relations Director.
“We will have staff members and multiple portable computers to enable people to receive help in a timely manner.”
