‘Perry County’, a documentary about coal ash dumping at a Uniontown landfill, will air tonight at the Marengo Theater at 6 p.m. There is no admission charge.
Filmed in fall and winter of 2009 by University of California-Berkley students N’Jeri Eaton and Matt Durning, the piece focuses on the debate accompanying the coal ash dumping and looks at the companies, the politicians and the conditions that allowed the coal ash to be brought to Perry County.
The film was completed in May 2010. The Demopolis screening will be the third such showing in the Black Belt.
