Mary Robinson

Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Robinson, age 67, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Northport.
She was a native of Birmingham and has lived in Demopolis for the last 30 years.
She a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church and a retired truck driver from Suttles Truck Leasing after 17 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe D. Lovering and Mary Lee McHaney Lovering; her brother, Edward W. “Sambo” Lovering; and her grandson, Robert A. Knowles.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Charles “C.J.” Robinson of Demopolis; her two daughters, Clovis Jeanette Keel of Lucedale, Miss., and Mary “Dee” Simmons of Demopolis; her two sons, Wesley “Bud” (Versa) Simmons of Demopolis and Roland “Tim” (Debra) Simmons of Moundville; a sister, Betty Jo Craig of Demopolis; 10 grandchildren, Shelley Simmons, Sonya Keel, Phillip Knowles, Dale Keel, Jonathan Knowles, Katie Middlebrooks, Raymond Welford, Tim Simmons II, Whittni Simmons and Jacob Welford; 10 great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
Services were held on Wednesday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Fairhaven Baptist Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Eric Sanford officiating. Interment followed at a later date in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the church Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services
