Melton Hinson

Melton Alexander Hinson, age 76, of Gallion, died on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden.
He was a retired lab technician and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Juliette “Cudie” Hinson of Gallion; a daughter, Rhonda Hinson (Michael) Dean of Tuscaloosa; a son, Melton Keith (Renee’) Hinson of Gallion; a sister, Ineal Hinson Singleton of Linden; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden on Friday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. with Paul Whitcomb officiating. Burial was at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallion. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directed the services.
Active pallbearers were Ricky McPherson, Greg McPherson, Robbie Kaylor, Donnie Cobb, Darrell Cobb, David Barnes, Willie Frank Johnston and Melvin Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Gibbs, Jimmy Marlowe, Buddy Hasty, Edward Singleton, Louie Singleton, Royce Schroeder, members of Paul Whitcomb’s Sunday school class, the staff of Southern Care Hospice and the staff of Marengo Nursing Home.
