These recipes are especially for the guys whose turn it is to cook dinner! Ladies you can use them too but this just seems like something daddy might try. It’s not difficult and it should make everyone happy at dinner time. Not to mention you daddies will look like a real chef!
The Club Stromboli
1 can or package of refrigerated pizza dough
2 tbs Dijon, spicy or honey mustard
Quarter lb thinly sliced deli ham
Quarter lb thinly sliced deli turkey
Quarter lb precooked bacon
2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Unroll pizza dough onto greased baking pan; spread dough into about a 12 in square.
You can ask your wife for a little help. She won’t mind but don’t let her take over. It’s your night to shine!
Spread the mustard over the dough, leaving a half inch border bare. Layer the ham, turkey and bacon down the center 6 inches of dough, leaving a 3 inch border on either side and a half inch border at the top and bottom. Top the meat with the shredded cheese. Fold the sides of the dough over the filling, pinching the center seam and each end to seal the Stromboli. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. You can buy a bag of mixed greens or spring mix prepared salad, add a few carrots and tomatoes and your favorite dressing and you have a meal.
For dessert make these super easy Cheesecake brownies or be caught out buying some like Mr. Brown! You know who you are.
Cheesecake Brownies
1 box of brownie mix (prepared as directed on box)
1 package of cream cheese softened
Third cup of granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare brownie mix as directed on box. Pour into 13×9 inch greased baking pan. Beat cream cheese with hand mixer on medium until smooth. Mix in sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla just until blended. Pour cream cheese mixture over brownie batter and cut through the batter with a knife several times for a marbled effect. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool and enjoy! Until next time, have fun in the kitchen, experiment and indulge your cravings.
