The history of the city of Demopolis is rooted in France, having been founded by exiled soldiers from Napoleon’s army. It seems natural for Demopolis High School to have its prom’s theme rooted in France as well.

The theme for the 2009 promenade is “A Night in Paris,” complete with the Eiffel Tower. The prom will be held on Saturday on the grounds of Gaineswood.

Pictures will begin at 5 p.m., with the dinner beginning at 7 p.m. and the leadout will begin at 9 p.m. on the north patio of Gaineswood.

The inclement weather on Thursday set work on the dance floor and decoration back by a day, but students were hard at work on Friday getting things ready for the annual celebration.
