Joe Thrasher

Mr. Joe Clinton Thrasher, age 76, died on Friday, March 13, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1932, in Cleburne County to Eber and Molly Thrasher. He was married for 53 years, and served 11 years in the U.S. Navy as a Third Class Pipe Fitter. He retired after 35 years in the trucking industry and enjoyed the outdoors.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Dr. Rex Kent officiating. The family will receive friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday from noon to 1:45 p.m. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing the services.
Mr. Thrasher was preceded in death by his parents, Eber S. Thrasher and Mary Lydia Gentry Thrasher, and his son, Joe Steven Thrasher.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean Edwards Thrasher of Demopolis; two daughters, Vickie (Drury) Kelley of Moundville and Teresa (Raymond) Boone of Demopolis; a daughter-in-law, Tammy S. Thrasher of Demopolis; six grandchildren, Kyle Thrasher, Kole Thrasher, Logan Boone, Lauren Boone and Lawson Boone, all of Demopolis, and Blake (Kristen) Kelley of Trusseville; one great-grandson, Landon Kelley of Trussville; two sisters, Beulah (Wilmer) Glasgow and Nana Lee Burton, both of Heflin; two brothers, Eston (Toye) Thrasher of Helfin and Coy Thrasher of Eufaula; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jim Thrasher, Joe Thrasher, Buddy Thrasher, Wilmer Glasgow Jr., Don Glasgow, Roland Thrasher, Tommy Thrasher, Perry Hand and David Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Beckham, Billy Beckham, Pat Holden, Homer Boone, Earl Sorrells, Meador Jones Jr., Andy Kelley and Charlie Watts.
