Wade Jernigan, age 72, of Demopolis passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Birmingham.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis and a retired food mart owner. He was a native of Milton, Fla.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Dr. Art Luckie officiating. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing the services.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hitt Jernigan of Demopolis; a daughter, Joyce (Jim) Belardi of Rosa Valley, Calif.; a son, George A. Payne of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Dennis Payne of Cullman; two grandchildren, Phillip G. (Catherine) Payne of St. Augustine, Fla., and Keri A. Payne of Cullman; and one great-grandson, Reid Harrison Payne of St. Augustine, Fla.
