Ms. Susie Lee Lewis Alston, age 86 of Demopolis, Alabama, passed January 24, 2009. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Moscow Baptist Church, Demopolis (Saltwell Community), Alabama. Rev. Timothy Page officiated. Interment followed in Scott Memorial Cemetery, Jefferson, Alabama. Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors, Demopolis, Alabama were entrusted with all arrangements.

Alston leaves cherish her memory, three loving and devoted daughters, Bertha Miller of Evanston, IL, Earlene McCrary of Chicago, IL and Angela Taylor (Jake Richardson) of Jefferson, AL; three sisters Willie Hamilton and Ruth Henderson of Tuskegee, AL, and Ruby (Willie) Whitman of Bessemer, AL; sixteen grandchildren, Michael Alston of Demopolis, AL (a devoted grandson whom she reared and lived with her), Shirley, Anita, Regina Miller of Evanston, IL, Bennie Williams of Demopolis, AL, Valerie and Frederick Johnson of Chicago, IL, Lashonda Richardson of Demopolis, AL , Christel (Eddie) Branch, Brian (Candance) Alston of Mobile, AL, Isaac Alston of Demopolis, AL, Alicia Taylor (Grover Albert) of Madison, AL, Tonya and Eddie, Jr. McCrary of Chicago, IL, Sonya McCrary of Marietta, GA, Deliah Simmons of South Carolina; fifteen great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Isadore Alston of Jefferson, AL and Acie Alston of Tuscaloosa, AL; a devoted son-in-law, Eddie McCrary of Demopolis, AL; a devoted friend Ruby (Willie) Jackson of Demopolis, AL and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
