Woodie Gene Dunn

Mr. Woodie Gene Dunn, age 54, of Demopolis passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at his residence.
He was a native of Jackson, Ala. He was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church and a retired construction worker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. at Fairhaven Baptist Church, with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Dr. Allen Atkins is officiating. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis is directing the services.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tennyson Dunn and Gena Dunn; a sister, Nancy Dunn; and two brothers, Larry Dunn and J.R. Dunn.
He is survived by his wife, Linda “Sissy” Fields Dunn of Demopolis; a daughter, Nadine L. Dunn of Octagon; two sons, Larry Skyler Dunn of Demopolis and Woodie Allen Dunn of Columbus, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Mandy Fields of Demopolis; a stepson, Josh Fields of Demopolis; four sisters, Rose D. Crenshaw of Demopolis, Jessie (Winston) Stringer of Thomasville, Marie Chapman of Grove Hill and Goldia (Jim) Hart of Columbus, Miss.; two brothers, David Dunn of Gallion and John C. (Kay) Dunn of Titusville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Dylan Dunn and Haley Dunn, both of Columbus, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers are Jeff Thornton, Steve Mangum, Don Spruell, Frankie Overstreet, Roy Lewis and Lee Melton.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Judy Travis and her staff and the Men’s II Sunday school class at Farihaven Baptist Church.
