Webster Lyles, age 78, of Moundville died on Jan. 13, 2009, at Hospice of West Alabama of Tuscaloosa.
Services will be on Friday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at Moundville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Stevens and the Rev. Dee McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. Visitation was Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Golda Crawford Lyles; one daughter, Pamela Hughen Bush; and one sister, Kathleen Pierce.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Johnson Lyles of Moundville; one daughter, Melissa Elich of Huntsville; one son, Larry (Debra) Hughen of Moundville; six grandchildren, Janie Hughen (Matt) Schober and Jason Hughen, both of Moundville, Jodie (Gene) Miles of El Paso, Texas, Michael Wilkerson Shelby of Gates, N.C., Ashley Elich of San Francisco, Calif., and Katherine Elich of Huntsville; and four great-grandchildren, Anna-Lise Hughen of Moundville, Mildala Miles of El Paso, Texas, and Patsy Rogers and Wesley Rogers, both of Gates, N.C.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hughen, Matt Schober, John Thomas, David L. Johnson, Terry Johnson and Denise Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are G.L. Marie’s Sunday school class of Moundville Baptist Church, the staff of Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Melanie Graham and Dr. Richard Shamblin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
