A frantic mother is trying to locate her two daughters missing since Dec. 2 about 9 p.m. from the French Creek area.
Demopolis’ Interim Police Chief Tim Williams said Thursday morning that the two were reported missing earlier this week, and for now, police don’t have any reason to believe they are anything but runaways.
Melanie Grant, the girls’ mother said, she too, believes her daughters Chrystan Denise Owsley, 16, and Kaitlyn Marissa Owsley, 15, have, in fact run away. “I’ve put posters everywhere,” she said. “I just want them found.”
Williams said the police spent several hours Wednesday night searching likely areas where the girls may be and are continuing this investigation. “Our concern is their safety,” the chief said. “We have no reason to believe they were abducted, but this situation is sad. We are looking for them.”
Chrystan Owsley has a pierced bottom lip, blue eyes, black hair, is five feet three inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. Kaitlyn Owsley has brown hair, brown eyes, is five feet three inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds.
Williams is urging the public to be on the lookout for these youngsters and call the police department with any information regarding their whereabouts or anyone may call the police department’s tip phone line at 334 289-1475.
