DEMOPOLIS — Summer is a time for fun and relaxation — and a little bit of celebration, too.
The Demopolis Public Library hosts a movie under the stars at the city landing July 22, with festivities beginning at 7:30 p.m.
While it won’t be dark by then, librarian Morgan Grimes urged parents and youngsters to head out early.
“We’ll have organized games before the movie starts,” Grimes said. “The public is invited, and there is no charge to attend.”
The movie is fit for the whole family, too, as the library has opted to show “Horton Hears a Who.”
Assistant librarian Kelly Tarpley said the event is a great one for the entire community to enjoy.
“This is kind of our big finale to the summer reading program here,” Tarpley said. “We are trying to reach parts of the community that may not come into the library, trying to get them involved.
The first movie under the stars, in 2007, was a huge success for the library, Tarpley said.
