DEMOPOLIS &8212; The City School System recently launched a new Web site aimed at linking students, teachers and parents via the World Wide Web.
Network Administrator Jeremiah Dial said the possibilities of the new site were virtually limitless in regards to parent/teacher interaction.
The Web site, www.demopoliscityschools.com, also allows parents to get an in-class look in formerly unchartered waters: Homework assignments.
The teacher&8217;s sites will allow parents to make sure those homework assignments aren&8217;t forgotten for long.
The Web site also has a news section, which Dial said will host bulletins and announcements for each of the schools.
Among other features on the new site will be the ability to send e-mails directly to teachers and the capacity to host live streaming video, which could include football games and board of education meetings.
Teachers will be responsible for the daily maintenance of each school&8217;s site and Glenda Bradley will serve as webmaster.
Also on the horizon, Dial said, is the installation of STI Home – a computer program, which allows parents to check their student&8217;s grades via the Internet.
