DEMOPOLIS &045; Charles Edward McEvilly, retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Army died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at his home. Graveside services were at 2 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2008, at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Justin Paschall officiating. The United States Army Honor Guard gave full military honors. Kidd Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.

McEvilly is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deloris Gibbs McEvilly.

McEvilly was born in Palestine, Ark. and has lived in Demopolis for the past 42 years. McEvilly was retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service in which he served in the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star Medal among other ribbons and medals throughout his career.
