FORKLAND &8212; Adelle Thrash Steinwinder, 95, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, at
Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Services will be 11 a.m.,
Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Dunford Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with
Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directing the services. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home Tuesday.
Steinwinder was born in Choctaw County and a resident of Demopolis, a resident of Forkland, where she was a member of Forkland United Methodist Church.
She was retired from Vanity Fair after 27 years of service. Steinwinder was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Steinwinder was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Franklin Powell and Comilla Pritchett Powell; her husbands, James Nathan Thrash, John Yingst,
Harvey Brown and Tuman Steinwinder; her brothers, Richard Bernard Powell and Jessie Norman Powell.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Jean Robinson, of Robertsdale; two
sons, William Claude Thrash and James Earl Thrash, and his wife, Pat, all of Forkland; three sisters, Annie Lee Grace of Ward, Imogene Grace and Marjorie Stephens and husband, Langford, all of York; two brothers, Bill Powell and wife, Eloise, of Jackson, Miss. and Charlie Powell, of Cullman; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be William Allen, James Thrash Jr., Scott Taylor Jr., John
Underwood, Michael Herndon and Wesley Herndon.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Southern Oaks Assisted Living, Dr. Gerald Hodge; nurses and staff of Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital; Robert and Vickie Taylor.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to a charity of choice.
