Remember hearing your grandparents say, &8220;I remember when we could buy a dozen eggs for a quarter,&8221; and so on? Well that same scenario is happening not just between generations anymore. Prices are rising and the increases can be seen within a matter of months instead of years.
The grocery prices increase continues to affect everyone across the United States. Those effects are being felt just as strong here in Alabama.
We decided to take an in-depth look at the rising grocery prices. We took a list of staple groceries, bread, milk, eggs, the normal, everyday things people purchase and took to area grocery stores to see how much an affect &8212; if any &8212;
the prices would have on the day-to-day staples.
The piece will print in the weekend edition of The Times. We hope the piece will not only provide information on price varying from store to store, but also capture the affects everyone is feeling from the recent increases.
