ATHENS &8212; Clay C. Stinnett, 75, of Athens, died April 30, 2008, at the Limestone Facility. Graveside service is set for 11 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Athens City Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Bassham preceding. Visitation is set for 9-10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Limestone Chapel.
He was born May 13, 1932, in Limestone County to Wiley and Fannie Stinnett. He lived in Demopolis for many years with his wife, Elizabeth, until her death. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Athens.
In addition to his parents and wife, a daughter, Kim Stinnett Claster, brothers, Bill Stinnett, Allen Barber and Calvin Barber and sister, Lynette Stinnett, precede him in death.
He is survived by one son, Steve Stinnett and wife, Nina, of Carrollton, Texas, one sister, Margaret Cole, and husband, Jimmy, of Athens, one granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
