NEWBERN &8212; Sunshine High School standout Justin Wagner signed a scholarship offer from Shelton State Wednesday, confirming where he will play college basketball for the next two seasons.

The 6-foot-4-inch Wagner will likely serve primarily as a wing player at Shelton State as he looks to develop his game in hopes of reaching an even higher level.

While at Shelton, Wagner will look to improve upon his skills in hopes of getting the opportunity to play at the Division I level in the future.

Justin will report to Shelton State May 30, the day after his high school graduation. For now, his family is enjoying his accomplishments and appreciating the high compliments, which his new coaches have been offering him.

To Phillip and his wife, Lynette, that praise is validation of the job they have tried to do as parents.
