DEMOPOLIS &8212; The 2007 Bassmaster Classic champion, Boyd Duckett, received another piece of hardware Tuesday when he was presented a certificate of appreciation from the U.S Army Corps of Engineers.
The Corps awarded Duckett the certificate as an expression of gratitude for his willingness to assist with the group&8217;s ongoing water safety campaign.
Given Duckett&8217;s appeal and credibility with such a group, the Corps viewed him as a prime candidate for the commercial.
The television spot originally, which was filmed late last spring, aired locally before being picked up by various corps outlets in approximately 10 locations across the country.
According to Smith, Col. Byron Jones, Mobile District Commander for the corps, saw the spot and wanted to present Duckett with the keepsake.
