DEMOPOLIS &8212; Vernon H. Griffin, 79, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., today, April 23, 2008, at Westside Baptist Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Richard Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral directors are in charge of the services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.

Griffin was retired from the veneer mill in Demopolis and a member of Westside Baptist Church.

His wife, Mary Frances Griffin, his son, Jerry Wayne Griffin and his grandson, Michael Shane Griffin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Joe Griffin, of Birmingham, three grandchildren, one sister, Louise Williams, of Clanton, one brother, Bobby Griffin, of Clanton and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Sean Wilson, Jimmy McCory, Mike Rogers, Paul Griffin, Cody Cross and Dale Smith.
