GREENSBORO &8212; Ruby Gooden Jackson, 89, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the Hale County Hospital in Greensboro. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Old Beth Salem Cemetery in Boligee.

Jackson was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church of Akron.

Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Elizabeth English Cockrell, her twin sister, Fannie C. Seale, and two brothers, Charlie Cockrell and Herbert Cockrell.

Survivors include one sister, Mary DeLoach, of Ella Bell, Ga.; one niece, Betty Gordon Woods of Akron; one great-niece, Betsy Arrington and her husband, Rick, of Greensboro; two nephews, David Woods Jr. and Dr. Mark Woods and his wife, Susan, all of Tuscaloosa and eight great-nieces and nephews.
