HUNTSVILLE &045; Marian Foreman Moore, 64, of Huntsville, died March 13, 2008. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Heiberger United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Moore was the daughter of Howell Dudley Foreman and Sarah Elizabeth Perry. She was born on Nov. 14, 1933, at the home of her grandmother in Huntsboro. She was reared in Panama City, Fla., which was the permanent residence of her parents. Before marrying, she worked as a dental assistant in Panama City.
After moving to Huntsville in 1954, she became active in many Huntsville civic and cultural organizations. She was founder and served as president of the Botanical Garden Society and the Early Works Society. She was a member of Huntsville Youth Orchestra Board and was past president of the Symphony Orchestra Guild, the Museum of Art Guild and the Cosmopolitan Club.
She served as vice president of the Museum of Art Board and as a member of the Early Works Board, the Historic Huntsville Foundation, the Music Study Club and the Huntsville Community Chorus.
Moore was active in the affairs of her alma mater, Auburn University. She was a past president of the Huntsville/Madison County Auburn Club and served as a member of the National Auburn Alumni Association Board. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the church she helped to initiate and organize in 1956.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Brooks Moore; brother, Dudley Foreman and wife, Rose; sons, Larry Moore, and wife, Annette, and Ron Moore, and wife, Ann; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Huntsville Youth Orchestra.
