MARION &045; Bessie Giles Williams, 78, of Marion, and formerly of Linden, died on Monday, March 10, 2008, at Southland Nursing Home in Marion. Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Linden Memorial Park in Linden with the Rev. Ed Pickle officiating. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden was in charge of the arrangements.

Williams was born May 25, 1929, in Meridian, Miss. She was a homemaker and a member of Linden Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Williams and wife, Lucille, of Demopolis, Ralph G. Williams and wife, Patricia, of Fillmore, Calif., Paul K. Williams, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Cathy Swanson, and husband, Warren, of Marion, Sharon W. Westrum, and husband, Alan, of Alamagord, N.M.; three sisters, Louise McClinton and husband, Jack, of Linden, June Johnson of Collinsville, Miss., Hellen Conners of Hawkensville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
