Mr. and Mrs. Terry R. Taylor of Forkland announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Kay Taylor, of Thomaston, formerly of Forkland, to James &8220;Jamie&8221; Norman Guy of Thomaston.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis R. Taylor of Forkland and the late Mr. and Mrs. G.J. Lipscomb Jr. of Demopolis. Taylor is a 2001 graduate of Demopolis High School. In 2005, she earned both a bachelors of arts degree in psychology from the University of Alabama and a licensed practical nurse degree from Shelton State. She was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority at the University of Alabama. She is employed as a licensed practical nurse at Fitz-Gerald Clinic in Demopolis.

Guy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney C. Guy of Thomaston. He is the grandson of the late Rev. and the late Mrs. Hurley D. Guy both deceased of Geneva and Ms. Nell Glass of Thomaston and the late Mr. Bobby Glass Sr. of Thomaston.

Guy is a 1999 graduate of Marengo Academy. He earned a degree in electrical technology from Bevill State in 2003. He was a member of the Bevill State Baseball Team. He is employed as an electrician at Rock-Tenn in Demopolis.

The wedding ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on May 3, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis.
