GALLION &045; Deacon Gidd Russell Jr., 75, of Gallion, diedMarch 11, 2008,at Bryan W. Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Demopolis.The Rev. Charlie Moore will officiate.Interment with military honors will follow at Limestone Cemetery in Gallion. The remains will repose at the church beginning at 12 p.m on Wednesday. Public viewing will be held from 1 until 7 p.m.on Tuesday. Family hour will be held from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.Larkin&Scott Funeral directors of Demopolis were in charge of the arrangements.

He was a graduate of U.S. Jones High School Class of 1952, owner of Russell New Image Clothing Store and involved in numerous civic and community affairs.

His survivors include his son, Jonathan Robinson, of Forkland; siblings, Johnnie Rowser and wife, Lovell, of East Norwalk, CT. and Sarah Zuvlon and husband, Dennis, of Centereach, N.Y., Eddie L. Russell and Monroe Russell and wife, Sally, of Rosedale, N.Y. and G.T. Russell and wife, Dot, of Demopolis; one aunt, Helen Jackson, of Birmingham; one uncle, G.T. Moody, of Cleveland, Ohio; Dorris Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
