MONTGOMERY &8212; In all honesty, Linden had a good team this past season. A ranking of sixth speaks for itself.
And in all honesty, the St. Jude Pirates under the direction of William Brown had a better team Tuesday night.
Whether Linden left their best team on the bus or back home in Linden, that&8217;s for you to decide, but one thing&8217;s for sure: it wasn&8217;t in Montgomery last night.
Needless to say, it was quite obvious that the initial plan would not turn out to be Linden&8217;s terminal plan.
LHS started the game and was playing decently, just not playing at their average level.
At the end of the first quarter, St. Jude was ahead by a small margin.
As the second quarter wore on, Linden was able to score 10 more points as the Pirates of St. Jude put up 17.
That defensive pressure was the key to the Pirates&8217; success.
The Pirates went on to dominate Linden, 50-65.
With Linden now out of the run for the championship, St. Jude looks to play the Sunshine High Tigers on Thursday at 4:40 p.m.
