With 26 of 27 precincts reporting – all but provisional ballots – Republican candidate Mike Huckabee and Democratic candidate Barak Obama claimed victories in Marengo County, mirroring the results statewide.

Huckabee claimed 1,175 votes, while John McCain was close behind with 1,009 votes countywide.

Obama won over 2,589 voters in Marengo County, while Hillary Clinton claimed 1,107 voters.
