Bessie Swearingin Bush

DAYTON &8212; Bessie Swearingin Bush, 88, of Dayton died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis. Funeral services were held at O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, with the Revs. Dunford Cole and George McKee officiating. Burial was at Dayton Cemetery, in Dayton. O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden directed.
Bush was born May 14, 1919, in Cowan, Tenn. She was a homemaker and a member of Dayton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Bush, of Dayton, one daughter, Joyce Burrage, of Dayton, two sons, Thomas C. Swearingin, of Dayton, James Harley Swearingin, of Cantonment, Fla., one sister, Maude Soloman, of Cowan, Tenn., seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Toddy Swearingin, Luke Jay, Wayne Burrage, Scott Barton, Curt Swearingin, Greg Swearingin and Cliffton McKnight.
Honorary pallbearers were nurses and staff of Marengo Nursing Home and Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
