LIVINGSTON &8212; Demopolis&8217; girls team went to Livingston and dominated the Cougars in almost all facets of the game from the get-go in their 56-33 win.
The Tigers came out of the gate strong on defense, and by the time the Cougars managed to put their first two points on the board Demopolis had 15. Though the first quarter was Demopolis&8217; best, the 21-5 margin they put up in the period was more than enough for the win.
Demopolis wasn&8217;t as dominate the final three quarters but still managed to outscore the Cougars in all but the fourth period, where Livingston put up 15 to their 14. The final period was the only period Livingston managed double digits &8212; a sign of the dominant Demopolis defense.
The biggest problem for the Tigers in the game, in fact, wasn&8217;t the Cougars, but rather themselves. The group shot only 8-of-17 from the line, something Pittman has said his team needs to work on in the past.
Leading scorers for the Tigers were Jasmine Hardy with 32, Aleshia Arnold with 14 and Jasmine Simmons with 12. For the Cougars, Juliser Harper with 13 and VanQuacious Otis with 10 lead the way.
