Andy Flowers proved himself a dominant force on the football field during his career at Marengo Academy, but, perhaps more importantly, he proved a leader in the classroom.

Along with being a leading rusher, scorer and tackler at the fullback and linebacker positions for the Longhorns, Flowers has also been able to maintain a team leading 4.0 grade point average and reign as the president of the Student Government Association at the school. His well rounded approach to balancing school and sports also garnered Flowers notoriety at the Alabama Independent School Association&8217;s All-Star football game in Montgomery in November.

The only Marengo Academy student to play in the east-west all-star event, Flowers was recently presented one of two $500 scholarships awarded by Buffalo Rock Beverages and Food Services to an outstanding student athlete on each team.
