Program will benefit community in long term

On Tuesday, local law enforcement, first responders and members of the Demopolis Pilot Club held their
training session for Project Lifesaver, a rescue program for people with Alzheimer&8217;s, autism, Down syndrome or other conditions that may cause them to wander.
Through the fundraising efforts of the Pilot Club, generous contributions of donors and the hard work of local officials, numerous clients in Marengo County will benefit with a program specifically designed to address their needs and allow their family members to locate them if they become lost.
With a 100 percent success rate both locally and nationally, support should be given for the good work this project has done with its clients and their families.
It is the hope of the project coordinators to expand into other counties eventually. Marengo County is lucky to be the first to enjoy this service.
