Booster organization making big difference

When you bring in a new football coach &8212; especially in a winning organization &8212; the air is always a mixture of fear and excitement.
The best thing to get people behind a new coach is winning football games. At 6-1 overall and 4-1 in region play, Tiger head football coach Tom Causey has done just that.
But Causey is winning fans for more than just his work on the football field. He is reaching out to the community and working to help his players off the field, predominantly with the Demopolis Quarterback Club.
Led by president Kenny Freeman, the Quarterback Club is raising money to help both middle and high school programs. They are also helping assist in a variety of programs.
Two such programs &8212; having players mentor to elementary children and arranging for churches to feed players on Thursday night &8212; will help build the character of our young players.
We applaud the work of this club, and we encourage others to participate.
