MARION &8212; Bernice Gillis Pitts, 82, died Oct. 5, 2007, at Perry County Nursing Home. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. today at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.

Pitts was born on Nov. 22, 1925, in Selma, to Arthur A. Pitts and Olie Gillis Pitts. She was a long-time secretary and bookkeeper at A.G. Parrish High School.

She is survived by many friends and relatives.
