NASHVILLE &8212; William Rentz Barkley, 81, of Nashville, Tenn., died Oct. 1, 2007, at his home. Funeral services for Barkley were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden. Interment followed in Linden Memorial Park, in Linden. He was born March 20, 1926, in Selma. He was a minister of music at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Franklin, Tenn., where he was a member. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by one brother, Donald Barkley, of Linden, one sister-in-law, Nell T. Barkley of Linden, three nephews, Jack Barkley, Dennis Barkley and Mitch Barkley, all of Linden, and one niece, Rubye Coleman of Hope Hull.

The active pallbearers were Jack Barkley, Dennis Barkley, Mitch Barkley, Will Barkley, Ron Morgan and Billy Coleman. O&8217;Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden directed.
