Oct. 1 has come and gone and the unofficial start of flu season has passed. Now is the time to get your flu shot, especially if you’re high risk.
Unlike in year’s past, this year, reports indicate there&8217;s plenty of vaccine on hand. The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta is working to prevent future shortages. With that said, the push for more immunizations is going forward. Believe it or not, the young or the old could easily see sniffles become deadly.
In addition to the flu shot, you can protect yourself with a few tips such as:
-Avoid close contact with sick people.
-If you get the flu, stay home if possible.
-Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
-Wash your hands frequently.
