Marengo Academy extends win streak on road
The Longhorns traveled to Wilcox Academy Friday night and shut out their opponent 30-0.
The win puts Marengo Academy above 50 percent on the year, with a 3-2 record. The &8217;Horns&8217; two losses came to Pickens Academy in their first game and Southern Academy in Week 4 of the Alabama Independent School Association season. See Page 11 for a photo from Friday night&8217;s game.

A.L. Johnson moves to 3-1 with win over Georgiana
The A.L. Johnson Eagles redeemed their home stadium with a 12-7 win over Georgiana High School.
The Eagles are now 3-1 on the season after a home loss two weeks ago against No. 11 South Lamar High School. Eagle coach Mose Jones said he wanted to use the game as a chance to get younger players experience before going on the road to face Sweet Water High School next week.

Sunshine upsets R.C. Hatch at Homecoming
It was a pretty even game except for the score: Hatch had 13 first downs, Sunshine had 10; Hatch had 349 yards (mostly in the air), Sunshine had 325 (mostly on the ground); both teams lost a fumble; Sunshine emerged victorious at R.C. Hatch&8217;s homecoming festivities 38-20.
