LINDEN &8212; The Patriots are coming off a rough game last Friday, in which the No. 1 Sweet Water Bulldogs ran over the group, which was 3-0 and Ranked No. 6, rough shod 56-8.
To hear Linden High School head coach Andro Williams talk, though, it sounds as if the fall down the road in a game that was one of the most anticipated of the year in Marengo County football circles might be a blessing in disguise for his team.
Williams said, after the loss Friday, his group got together Sunday and watched film on their harsh loss. Williams said the group came out optimistic that they didn&8217;t play up to potential and said they found spots where they feel they can improve.
Williams said the group returned to practice and returned to where they left off last week as they work to get better as the season progresses. He said the group has strived all season to remain focused on playing aggressive, physical football &8212; and the playoffs.
Williams said the game between the two schools last year was a dogfight, so to avoid a repeat he wants his group to come out swinging, establishing themselves early.
He said the group has talented skill players that allow them to do so, so this week&8217;s work will definitely face a test.
