Bulldogs again host ranked opponent, Leroy High

Sweet Water football has been anything but boring this year, which is surprising considering the domination they have dealt out so far against opponents.
The group has outscored opponents 222 to 35
through four games, and yet almost every week their game is at the top of the list of must-see games of the week. They faced the No. 2 team in 4A the first game and then in week four played a county rival lead by a former Bulldog that was climbing the top 10 in 1A, which they are perched atop. And they won both.
Again this week, the focus is on Sweet Water High School. The Bulldogs
are facing another No. 1 team, Leroy High School, that is dominating 2A.
Luker said his team is facing a group that is well coached and has traditionally played great defense. Sound familiar? Luker&8217;s coaching peers often use those same words to describe his group.
He likened the game to the Bulldog&8217;s earlier match up this season with Thomasville, where Sweet Water won 27-13 over their closest played opponent this year. Thomasville was 4A No. 1 at the time, and, as the game was their only loss, they are still ranked at No. 5.
And the game won&8217;t be easy on the Sweet Water defense either.
The Bears run a spread offense and use the I-formation for powerful ground plays. They also have one of the top quarterbacks in 2A if not the state.
Facing one of the most talented offensive weapons they have faced this year, the Bulldogs&8217; unbeaten record will be tested. Time will tell if the record and the team will pass yet another test.
