DEMOPOLIS &8212; On his fifth visit to Demopolis since being elected to office, Rep. Artur Davis, D-Birmingham, will speak at Rooster Hall at 6 p.m. tonight at the Town Hall meeting.
Corey Ealons, media spokesperson for Davis, said last year&8217;s town hall meeting had a great turnout.
Davis represents the 7th Congressional District, which includes 12 of that state&8217;s 67 counties. The district includes Marengo County along with eight other counties in the Black Belt: Choctaw, Clarke, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Wilcox. Davis holds annual town hall meetings in the 12 counties he represents.
Davis&8217;s district is unique in that he represents the largest city in the state, Birmingham, and also represents places whose entire county populations that are less than that of Birmingham.
Most recently, Davis has been assisting in the efforts between the Marengo County Commission, Federal Land Bank South of Alabama
and Wachovia Bank to help stop the foreclosure of Linden Lumber.
After Davis speaks about accomplishments during the 110th session of Congress, he will take questions from the audience.
