Southern Academy rolls Escambia Academy, 49-0

GREENSBORO &8212; The Cougars came to the field ready for battle against the young team of Escambia Academy Friday night following two weeks off.
Southern Academy held Escambia to a blank score all four quarters of the game, banking a total of 49 points for the Cougars.
Bonds said he was pleased with the team&8217;s output following their off time.
Bonds said the team had a couple of mistakes he feels the team can overcome in practice.
Southern Academy had eight first downs or 250 rushing yards for 28 carries. The Cougars passed for 99 yards and were six for nine. They had six penalties for 50 yards and punted twice for a 29.5-yard average.
Matt Bouler led the Cougars in rushing with 11 rushes for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
Jason Fonderen lead the Cougars in receiving with four catches for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cougar defense was led by Thomas Weeks with 12 tackles and one fumble recovery, followed by Tyler Christian with seven tackles.
