LINDEN &8212; After Marion Schools didn&8217;t field a team for this football season, Marengo Academy had to find a replacement to fill the void in its schedule this week. Longhorn head coach Jesse Little said his team found an opponent this week that also had to quickly find a game after an opponent dropped them.

Today the Horns will face off against Coosa Valley Academy, with little knowledge about what they are coming into. Little said he does know what offense he is facing, so the group isn&8217;t coming in totally blind.

Little said the spread offense the Longhorns are facing shouldn&8217;t hamper his defense and hasn&8217;t caused the group to make any special adjustments. He said his defense runs out of multiple formations, moving linebackers to suit their needs during games, so they shouldn&8217;t be too out of sorts against the spread.

Both teams come into the game with 1-1 records and ranked No. 2 in their respective class regions. Marengo Academy is in region one of Alabama Independent Schools Association Class AA, while Coosa Valley is in region one of AISA Class AA.
